Finally finished going through the book, got 94/100 from the practice test which took me only 12 minutes. I think I might be ready for the real thing. Where can I book the exam? Is it worth getting a comptia membership before doing the exam?

I did the Comptia membership a long time ago, dunno how it could help me tho'... haven't been to their site in ages.

You need to reserve your exam date and palce on the Prometric.com website.

Last time they changed exams, the 600 series to the 700 series, it was clear that you had to pass the two exams from the same series (i.e. you couldn't do 601 and then 702) but other than that I don't think there is any limit.

They overlap for a few months so you'll probably have until at least 3 months after that, although not all testing centres might offer both.
I found with the A+ that if people are ready for one exam, they're ready for both so I don't see you running into time issues.

It's best if you do not let too much time go by in between exams as things will be fresher in your mind you do the second exam soon after the first.
