    Hi All,

Odd question maybe, but are there any programs out there which allow you to emulate a Cisco Switch or firewall? I wanted to try and learn a bit more about Cisco equipment, and it's getting a bit of an expensive habit buying new hardware whenever I want to learn about new stuff...
So is there any sort of emulator out there, like one that I can create a virtual Cisco switch or whatever, and just fiddle about with it?
Probably not but might as well ask... :)

First hit on google, when you search for "cisco ios emulator".
That's the one you need :)

Unfortunately it has been forbidden to discuss the software on this site. As Simon says the google will be able to answer the questions, with plenty help available over at the Cisco learning network forums.

    Ooh, the irony

On the other hand, as far as I can remember, there was only one person making a BIG fuss about it...

    Guys

It doesn't matter who, when or where, unless someone can prove without a doubt that Cisco approve of this and have changed their rules, then my decision regarding this subject stands. Discussion over.
