As the title suggests I've been reading this site for quite a long time. So I thought I'd finally register an account and play a part in your great forums..... This site has helped me a lot with my studying.

I'm currently in the RAF as a 2003 network administrator ... 2nd/3rd line (for the last 7 years). Well my service is up in the next couple of months and I'll be out in civvy street...... eek.

Used to be an exchange bod back in the days of 5.5 (how I loved that) and now seem to deal with anything 2003 related these days. I've done MCSA: Messaging - I was going to continue and do the MCSE but I dont envisage myself designing networks anytime soon so I've dropped that.

Just done ITIL foundation today and passed (went down the self teach approach). I've been with a couple of trainers in the past and basically all I've found is that they just read from the book anyway so I though what the hay and did it myself. As the military give you a resettlement package I'm doing a few 2008 modules to get a feel and maybe work towards MCITP:SA.

So thats about it from me looking forward to chatting with you all in the future.

oh yeah one last thing.... I'm having an amazing day to day.... as mentioned ITIL passed. My little kid decided to put a 5p coin and a yale key in the PS3 bluray slot (how I could of killed him lol) today I managed to fix it. He also drew all over the LCD TV in crayon which is not only clean but the shiniest its ever been!!!!

I used this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Passing-your-ITIL-foundation-exam/dp/0113312067/ref=pd_sim_b_1
and read it through once. Then a second time making notes and read through my notes about 3 or 4 times then took it.

The questions I felt were straight forward (got 95%), most seem common sense. The book comes with a mock exam which is quite similar.
