    w00t!

    I am now officially a C|EH.

    94%!!!

Easiest exam I've ever taken - I don't know what I was so worried about. Ridiculously long (150 questions), but most of the questions were so easy it's not true. Many of them were BASIC security questions like you might see in the Sec+

There were a huge amount of 'common sense' ones (not like the stupid M$ questions where they give you a shitload of useless information like 'Trent is the administrator of a large company based in Buttf*** Idaho. He is happily married with three children and enjoys his job. Trent drives a Jeep Cherokee to work every da..blah blah blah...')

Luckily for me, I got about ten questions on Snort, at LEAST another fifteen on NMap and hardly anything on XSS and SQL Injection above and beyond the basics.

One thing I will say to anyone preparing to take this is that the subject matter is extremely broad - but not very deep at all. You definitely don't need much knowledge above that of the average skr1pt |<iddi3, but will need to prepare yourself for the frustration of badly worded questions and a poor standard of English.

Oh well - onward and upward! CISSP next Iguess - unless I can convince work to shell out for the SourceFire training :biggrin

Congrats mate. Its a subject that I was considering getting into at one point. I might still take a wander in that direction at some point too, but think im going to focus on dev for now.

Thanks guys. I was astonished at the score as well - figured I'd get about 85%. It's the highest passing score by far I've ever had for an exam.

To be honest, I thought the course syllabus was ridiculous - far too broad and shallow to be of any real use to anyone. It seems that, although the CEH appears to be the cert that all security admins want at the minute, any security manager looking to hire on the basis of that cert wouldn't be getting value for money.

I might look into doing some of the ISS courses next - although they're vendor specific I hear they're much more focussed on things that might actually make a difference in security - instead of getting ten questions where the answer is a variation on the theme of 'Social Engineering'
