I have been finding out the course costs on CCNA course preparation from different Cisco academies in my local area, and they have been quoting me roughly £ 1000 each CCNA part which lasts 6 months each, and you have to complete 4 of them as you know, is it really the sort of price one should be paying for this certification?

Nah.

Go the self-study route and you'd get through the whole thing in about six months or less. Use your money to buy routers and switches instead.
