    I'd recommend him buying the ones written by Steve McQuerry, they are much more understandable for newbies into networking. Used them for myself, well covered and pretty easy to understand compared to Wendell Odom's ones which are still better than any except they are directed to the people who have a background in the field.

    I booked exam on 14 April. i know a bit of every topic(i think).....but not sure how much do i have to prepare.dont know much about subnetting.can anyone prioritize the topics for me according to ccent exam.

    Honestly, I would reschedule your exam - if you don't know subnetting inside out you'll be throwing your money away.

    I reckon he could learn subnetting in an hour or so, but the above point is spot on, if you are slow at subnetting then you will be at a significant disadvantage for this and the CCNA
