But the problem with fake trees is that they don't degrade as well as real ones....

I own zero (count them, zero!) christmas decorations. Go me for being green!

I hate christmas. When I was a kid I loved it. Not so now. And only part of it has to do with my birthday. Bah!

Lol! :biggrin Can totally see your point Twiz...but...

Forget the presents and expensive things - for a lot of people it's all about 'home' makes up part of the few days of the year when we can get together and spend QT with the family, friends...or whoever is special to ya (even if you are running around like a blue-ar$ed fly in the lead up).

Could quite happily ditch the presents aspect and just do the decorations/meal/family thing!

As for the tree - much healthier for the environment to get the tops of 'real' ones cut off!!

As for the decorations - we don't buy electric ones, and we have a nice little collection, so they get recycled each year - no need to go out and get more!

Must say though, I am into sending cards for those we don't see - like the traditional method as it shows we made an effort...and those can be extremely expensive...:dry gonna have to make them by hand next year!

Also the religious aspect means a lot - though I'm not a full-blown church goer I do stop to think about the true meaning (yes - shock- horror, it's not actually the day that Christ was born, but it has become a day to remember that)!
