    Got my exam coming up at the end of the week and I've been cramming through all of my material to try and get ready and realised that I'm drawing a blank on subnetting :oops:
    I'm ok as far as the 255.255.255.0/25+ but it's really the maths then of working out of how many subnets this gives you and how many hosts within each that my head starts to spin a bit. Has anybody got a simple explanation or any tips or tricks???

    OK, I think I'm getting it after having a look with a clear head...

    So for a Host address of 192.168.10.33 with a Subnet mask of 255.255.255.192;
    Subnets= 2 to power of Network bits = 4
    Hosts= 2 to power of host bits-2 = 62
    Valid subnets= 256-192 = 64 / 0, 64, 128, 192
    Valid broadcasts= subnet-1 / 63, 127, 191
    Valid Hosts per subnet= 62

    How did I do?
