    HI
iv just aquired a book called
Upgrading and repairing PC's' 17th edition published in march this year written by Scott Mueller

its over 2000 pages and very in depth, would this help my A+ studying or should i just stick with Sybex.

mate - CompTIA are changing their objectives in around April 2006..

All exams before this date are 2003 objectives and after than then its 2006 with a few more...

Have a look on the comptia site for their current objectives, and look through your book if to see if they are covered...

Mike Meyers is is quite good on covereing the A+ syllabus...

therefore, if the exams are changing, the books will be changings, as well as the objectives...

To try and answer your question about the book...while Mueller's tome doesn't directly map to the A+ exams, if you studied and mastered the content within its pages, you'd be one "kick ass" PC tech.

I have used Scott Muellers' books in both paper format and digital book format (great to stick on your PDA when you are out and about) for a few years now and swear by his knowledge and by the way the books are presented. However after saying all of that I don't think his books, or certainly the ones I have (inc his 17th edition) are the use of exam prep. His books are mostly for troubleshooting and the like.

Still a damn good read tho :D

So to summarise I would stick with the books you have that are exam prep written. Also TheCheekMaster made a valid point with regards to the CompTIA upcoming changes (if it was a year out <COUGH>) Here I go coming down with that cough :biggrin

Whatever your choice, good luck! :thumbleft
