Work just paid for my exam.

Sitting it on 3rd of March.

I've been researching and planning SharePoint deployment at work for last 3-4 months and we're looking at going live pretty soon(-ish).

As study material I'm using:
- SharePoint 2010 + SQL Server 2008 R2 on a test cluster at work
- Technet
- Various blogs and websites
- MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-667): Configuring Microsoft SharePoint 2010 by James Pyles (tripwire45 on our forum)
- Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Unleashed by Michael Noel

Has anyone taken this exam already? Any pointers?

Mate, wish I had your job with three months to plan an installation. I had one hour to do a SharePoint 2010 Foundation installation and configuration with an SQL 2008 R2.

Yeah. I'm internal though. So all I do is on my network. No deadlines as such for background projects. We've been doing other stuff in the meantime. SharePoint wasn't the highest priority project until recently. I've done loads of work on Exchange 2010 and DPM 2010.

But yeah, I like my job too. Money could be better but... oh well.

Can i ask how you got this book MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-667): Configuring Microsoft SharePoint 2010 by James Pyles?

I am desperate for it to assist my prep for taking the exam but amazon says it hasn't been released

I got it off Amazon.

I had to reschedule the exam due to landing new job and having to finish off loads of stuff in my current employment. Looking at sitting it in April.

 

Good luck for the exam! - i'd like to do sharepoint at some point, maybe towards the end of the year - it's starting to get used quite alot in my work also
