Well what a surprise i had this weekend, not only was the game released to the shops a day early :) but my wife went and bought it for me without me knowing LOL.

Anyway just thought id see if anyone else is playing and what your opinions are.

Not sure, however if the pc is gonna be as high graphicly as the xbox is I think it may need a fairly decent machine to run properly.

However its still worth the effort imo :)

The game is awesome and is very well optimised, so performance isn't that much of an issue if at at all. As long as your system exceeds the minimum spec you should get nice graphical detail.

Why not? You HAVE to use Vista to use DX10.

I heard of it, I never really looked into it. There are a few games that I would like to get, I guess this one is added to the list.

I recently got this game through steam, I must the the story line is very diverse :). The effects are pritty good as well. Although there was a bit of a scandle with the copy protection they used on it, the game its self is spot on and worth getting

But you specifically questioned why anyone would try to get Bioshock to work on Vista:

The answer is because of DX10... whether there are many games or a few games out that support DX10 is irrelevant to whether someone would specifically try to get Bioshock, which supports DX10, to work on Vista. Logical thought process FTW, mate.

Not from Microsoft, it won't be. From Microsoft's DX10 FAQ page:

In short, Windows XP cannot support DX10. It's not technically possible.
