After four months, it seems that my skill sets and those required by my contract job weren't a very good match, so I'm "on the trail", so to speak, looking for a job again. I figured I'd give the job six months, but it didn't work out. I have a meeting next week with the recruitment agency to go over a "battle plan" and in the meantime, I'll apply for employment insurance (again), spruce up the ol' CV, and start looking for work.

I licked my wounds last night and am still smarting a bit, but it's time to galvanize into action.

Shame to hear it didn't work out trip. Still waiting for the letter to arrive from my job interview on Wednesday, I've got at least another 20+ potential job specs to go through.

Thanks, everyone. The Sybex book went to the pritners a week or so ago, so it's right on schedule. Today, I'm finishing up the last of the ancillary instructor's materials and will send that in to the publisher. Then, it's completely a done deal.

It's not a nice feeling by any means but not to worry as you've got potential and something more lasting would come your way. Best wishes:)

Bah.. what were they thinking Jim?
I guess we have all been in the situation where what we thought the job was about seemed to change its direction over time, I know I have!

I hope it's not too much of a mission to find something new mate, got my fingers crossed for you! :)

Thanks, everyone. I was mostly worried about how the missus would take it but she took it a lot better than expected (she's house and dog sitting, so I don't see much of her lately). The shock has worn off and while I stuggle with having faith that things will work out for the best, the faith is there (although, I really don't like these little "tests").

Just going to take it one day at a time and one task at a time and move forward.
