My son Lee was born yesterday at 4.52am weighing 8 pounds. I am over the moon with excitement and can't wait to start parenthood.

It is going to be hard work no doubt as am already feeling the strain but one strain am willing to ride through.

Tips parents on the forums as I'd be needing plenty seeing this is our first child.

 

Congratulations!!! Kids are a blessing, even more so when they start making you brews and terminating cables

 

Major congratulations, I've got 3 myself (they are very morish!), but you really make it up as you go along and fit them into your lifestyle. Sleep whenever you can until they realise what night and day is for (which ours did after about 6 weeks).

Congrats to the both of you. Make sure you help your wife to get as much sleep and rest as possible. She's going to need it more than you. Later on when the baby won't stop crying (for some unknown reason) you can also run the vacuum cleaner in the background somewhere. They produce white noise which seems to calm them down.

All the best as am sure all would be fine, just make sure you get ready a bag of energy drinks and snacks prepared to take to the hospital. I failed in the regard and well barely standing after thirteen hours of waiting, supporting etc.

Well I had four jaffa cake biscuits at the end, so that helped a bit otherwise I bet I would have passed out.

It has been a eye opener as well as the greatest experience I have had in my life and would cherish it.
