Can anyone tell me how good atrac3+ is? especially compared to mp3, or aac.

Never heard of it, what does it do?

 

It's just a form of compression (for music) that Sony have been using for a good while now. First appeared as Atrac1 on their Minidiscs. I hear that early versions of it were quite poor, but I was more than happy with the quality of recent versions of Atrac (via my NetMD player).

Only problem with Atrac really is that by using it in some form, it usually means you have to use Sony's software, which quite often is dire ...
