    Hello all,

    Just a quick question.

Using ASR in Windows XP requires me to create a set of floppy disks incase a recovery is needed.

I have installed a number of new Dell machines at our Head Office site of which none contain a floppy drive.

Can a ASR image be stored on a flash drive for example incase I need to recover one of these systems? Or would I now have to burn a cd as the recovery media?

    Thanks

Without looking further into it, I'd say that as long as you can boot from the device you can store the ASR files on it.

    That is what I thought

I haven't had a mess about with it as I am currently not at that site.

Just wanted to know if anybody had faced a similar problem.

    Thanks for the help

Don't know if this LINK will help, if you haven't seen it already, Rostros. There is a link on the right that describes just what you're after, but it looks like it is outdated ! :(

    Thanks for that Jaka...

I did have a look at that page earlier but just couldn't see anything about using other media, but I didn't browse that long.

Going to have a test with burning a CD with the recovery info and using a flash drive as well, see what happens.

I guess every new machine that comes into my sites now will probably come without a floppy drive so it would be useful to know. :D
