I’ve been trying to atleast, just find it hard to spend eacy day on a PC at work for hours on end, and then coming home to do the same. Currently debaiting on whether to go for the CCENT or N+ cant seem to make my mind up on that one. I’ve been studying for the Secuirty MTA aswel as the Windows Server one, mainly just for foundational knowledge. I probably will only sit the server one but after that I will move on to some form of networking cert for sure.

I know exactly what you mean. If you’re on a computer all day for a living, it can get tough to study on your computer in your spare time. Throw kids into the mix and it’s very tough. I think it’s important to remember why you’re doing it to stay motivated. Just studying with no objective is too hard I think.

I am currently studying for the AWS solution architect associate exam because I want to diversify my qualifications a bit and it’s really interesting stuff. EC2 S3 and snowball are great topics to my mind

Just signed off another three office 365 migrations so I’m going to be busy until early April – this type of work includes out of hours work so not much chance to study.

Been told to buy whatever I need for certs and just stick it on my company credit card (yay!) but still want it to be a worthwhile purchase so need to get some spare time soon.

You’re living the dream! It was a battle just getting a pen with the company logo on.

Nope not really. Work want to put me on a SCCM course, but not really bothered about the exam after. Also looking at Azure for backups and putting some VM's in the cloud, but exams, Nahhh

I probably need to push out a VCP exam in the next three months otherwise I lose VCP status but considering I very rarely get technical now I do question whether it's worth it (it is, it's better to have a really good manager who understands the tech it's really just finding the time to study).

I sat my VCP6.5 DCV a few weeks back mate, similar, increasingly hands off over the past few years and don't mind admitting I found it really tough! Still its given me a wake up call and I'm ready for more now

Oh trust me, I would love to remain technical but I am actually really loving the management side of things as well. I have spent a lot of time and money on my VMware certifications tho so I will do my best to stay current (and maybe even try for the RHCSA which I am getting my staff to do as well).

Problem for me is that I now also look after more than just a virtualisation platform and really could do with more knowledge away from my main knowledge.

I hear you and I'm exactly the same. AWS is really interesting if you've not checked it out although I'm sure you will have. It's what I'm looking at next but its a bit of a cheat as we do VMware Cloud on AWS. vSphere integrated containers also to my mind a bit of a diversification but not ha ha
