Have phoned recruiter 3 times, left messages, emailed (and got a read receipt back) but they just don't seem to want to tell me the location (not the Company name) for this job in Wiltshire.

So, if anyone has an idea, please let me know !

I'm from Swindon originally and nothing in the ad gives any location away.

But if I was looking for a 4000 user site, I'd would have thought Swindon (being on the M4 corridor) as every other town/city isn't in reasonable and easy commutable distance to anywhere!
Intel has its European HQ in Swindon, as does Nationwide.
Lucent Technologies are in Swindon also

Suggesting that its "customer solutions" would make be believe its not in house, so that removes Intel and Nationwide....

How many interviews from the 61 applications though?

 

About just over half are just agency registrations, the rest are actual job apps, 2 interviews - both said I interviewed well but not quite suited to the specific job.

 

Were you too experienced, not expereinced enough, too management-certified, or not sufficiently certified at a technical level?

If you're not already in the BCS by the way, I'd strongly suggest joining. There are regular meetings you can attend (I never have), albeit a few are late in the evening in London; however, there are regional BCS meetings and Special Interest Groups. These things are used by a fair few people for networking, and the e-BCS newsletter always has jobs shown. As an example, there's one in Aylesbury this week for SysAdmin/Engineer between 30 - 35k.
