I would imagine a great many people in the UK work from BT.

From personal experience though, I would say that none of them work in customer service or maintenance... :biggrin

This probably isn't relevant, but I worked in their customer accounts department way back in the nineties.

My Fiance works for BT Openreach - he's a resource manager for all the field engineers etc...

Before that, he developed a massive resource planning model with SQL...

Before that, I believe he worked in BT on the graduate scheme as an engineer...

    Why?

Was just wondering as i have signed up for BT apprentiship and got through initial sift for the second time.

1st time i put down as network designer or data & net tech.
Now they then got in contact with me and said unfortuanately that those positions wouldnt be availible in norwich. but would i take it in north london.

This i was discusted with and declined.

2nd time i now have been offered either service technician or installation and support on both of there higher apprentiship schemes which they sponsor for degree in IT.

Was wondering if its possible to do say 1 yr as installation and support then move onto data and networks tech. as this is the route i really want to take.

But i dunno. too hard to get info like this out of BT

Other half doesn't know about that scheme...

Also you need to discover which part of BT.
    First - BT is huge!
Second, because of Ofcom rules BT is split into many parts, and the new rules limit how they interact.

    So is it :
    BT Retail
    BT Wholesale
    BT Openreach
    BT Global
    BT Group

(I think I've got most of the big parts)
