Because he's already on the path to become a CCIE. And at his age (16), he'd better hurry! Time's running out! :ohmy:biggrin

    Qualified for what?

I think Tripwire45 would be the most qualified for Life+, Hbroomhall for Experience+, zebulubu for Security+ and wizard for Fun+. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses.

LOL... missed that... (although I am included briefly in the thread). Power to him if he wants to be CCIE; however, I can think back to more 'interesting' things I was doing as a 16 year old...

The guys asked for some advice
why don't we give him some and stop taking the piss? your all welcome to not have the same goals as him, your not welcome to take the piss out of him for it

Based on his first course, he is doing a diploma, unless the rules are massively different in NZ then that will be through a recognized academic institution, which tackle certs very much differently than the private sector (the CCNA network academy is up to two years long and covers way more material than CCNA etc) so lets give him a break and help him out

    To the OP
not sure we have any CCIEs floating around here anymore, but we have plenty of very experienced people to help, like others have said (with pretty poor tact) certs are not everything, and on there own can mean very little, that said knowing what your doing to a certain degree before jumping in has it's uses, i'd recommend you finish the diploma first and see where you want to go, the CCIE is not the gravy train it used to be, and a few less than stellar holders have devalued it somewhat, but its a very good goal to have provided you understand the lengths you will need to go to attain it

Well appologies for trying to have a sense of humour, on april fools day of all days ! :D

There is no question in this post other than whos got the highest cert or qualification, I can't really see how any one person can answer this without us all getting into a my wangers bigger than yours contest...

How does one determine which qualities are higher than others ? Does a MSc beat a CCIE ? Does a Phd beat 10 years exp ? Does a CITP beat an MSc, Do two BScs beat an MSc... its literally endless

Some of us don't read every single post by a member before replying, it might have made more sense to have stated the context of the question !

No offense was intended, welcome Ambushed !

    Ambushed & Phoenix,
No offence but with an open question like that it was either poking fun at the request or the pissing match could have been “mine’s bigger than yours…” :biggrin

    OP,
I think what you meant was “…Who is the highest Cisco qualified person here?” (–correct me if you really meant to include all certifications types) This question is also very open. Which is of higher value, the CCNP or CCVP, or CCSP? It depends on who’s asking, and what they currently (and want to) do in their role.

I don’t know any CCIE’s on the forum (but then I don’t really look for them either), however I am sure (very sure) there are folks here with over 10-years of Cisco experience and are either working towards, or know CCIE’s. So what's the real question?

    So like Giddy asked:

I saw that too. Love the history channel. :) If you feel like your being put upon ambused (now that is ironic) just ping in privy for a mod or admin and ingnore them. Don't respond and sink to their level specially after staff has stepped in to handle it. I don't do cisco, but I used to love networking once upon a time. I wish you all the best in your studies and welcome to CF.
