Not sure if that'll still work, it looks like the offer ended on the 31st October 2009 :(

Not sure, but try this one: TMSAM07 (looked like it worked yesterday for one guy)

HSBC just phoned to say they cancelled my card for usual usage

Okay, i only do stuff online under linux with highest security, i never used my CC over the phone or ATM and never used in store for years.

I am thinking there software has created a false positive.

Usual usage - isnt that kind of the point?:)

I have had this happen more then once, it can be that you have made a couple of online payments and the billing addresses look like London, Manchester, Dublin and Paris and then you use it in your home town the software creates the false positive. How ever to be sure make sure you check all of your recent activity.

Howerver on the plus side at least you know the system works!

    oops yeah unusual

Yeah this must be a false positive, its funny that they called when i had trouble using firefox on Microsoft's ordering system. I then did the order in windows via IE (luckily i had a clean install VM) whilst the bank was on the phone so they could let it through.

Its a shame that they wont disclose information like where the suspicious transaction was supposedly made.
