Try one of the more user friendly versions, like paintshop essentials or their equivalent etc.

Nothing will cause you hours of grief, you can just use youtube for tutorials to get you productive almost immediately.

1/4, kobem is after a 3D modeling and animation package, the likes of which include Blender, ZBrush, Bryce, Renderman, 3D Studio MAX, SoftImage, Maya, Autocad, Poser, Truespace, POV-ray, Lightwave, Cinema4D, SolidWorks, SketchUp, etc.

I am not aware you can get this functionality in Photoshop by the way.

Microsoft give Truespace away for free.

Google have SketchUp which has a free version.

Blender is free but many people claim its hard to master.

Traditionally the packages that specialised in character animation were Poser and 3DS MAX Character studio, character studio is now no longer a plugin and is part of 3DS MAX proper.

    There is DAZ studio free.

I'd give Maya a go for general 3D stuff if serious and invest some cash on good learning materials, there is a free/low cost student version I believe.
