Been trying for yonks - since about 17:00 - can't ping the domain name, can't trace route to it either.

Smellywest DNS issue or a BBC problem?

I notice that it *may* be possible that people missed the purpose of my cynical addition of </AOL>.

It used to be the case that many AOL people were clueless and included the whole of an original posting with the "Me too" line appended.

    This metamorphosed into the line:
<AOL> Me too </AOL> in some circles.

In my case I tried the BBC site from an Easynet connected DSL.

It was an issue with Telewest's upstream DNS in my area (Croydon)

Its been fixed now - guess the cache was fubared on one of their DNS servers?
