    Hi,

I have aquired the following setup, is this any good for the CCNA.

    2x 2503
    2 X Cisco MC3810 with 2 serial, 1 Ethernet and 1 E1 interface each.
    1 X Cisco 1600 with 1 Ethernet and 1 BRI interface
1x Cisco 1705 with 1 Fast Ethernet and 1 Ethernet.
    1 X Cisco 1003 with 1 Ethernet and 1 BRI interface
1 X Blackbox WAN emulator (no PSU and Manual)(x.21)

I am thinking of adding a 3640 with a 4x Serial and FE additions.

Also what switchs would you recommend.

    Thanks

These could be the basis of your lab, I would be add 2 X 2950 switches

Get some tranceivers for the 2503's and to use the 1603 and 1705 you would need a wic/1T card for each.

Then again I have 2 X 1603's that are collecting dust, as they are pretty useless for CCNA. I bought these when I started to study with a 1900, found out just after I just wasted £50.

Get yourself some straight and cross over ethernet cables, some DTE to DCE serial cables and of course some roll over cables.

You will have yourself a descent CCNA lab

    Good luck with your studies!

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply, indeed i do have the cables and trancievers required. Any particular model of 2950 you would recommend such as a 2950-c or xl. What about the 3550 series.

    Thanks

Instead of spending the money on 3550's (they are very expensive and overkill for a CCNA lab) get yourself a 2521 to use as a frame relay switch and two 2950's (any 2950's will do).

Here's an old pic of my lab.

Nice Lab, would be shot by the OH, like the desk, i have a black glass and tbh its awful reading and working at a pc at. Far to high...

For frame reply with was thinking of a 3620 with the four port serial adaptor. I already that that so a 3620 is comming in around the same as a 2521. What do you think....

    Thanks.

Any router with at least 4 serials ports would do, the 3620s are expensive with a 4 serial port card.

If I remember right I think I paid about £60 inc P+P for my 2521.
