Well today i sat the Ms70-272 exam at Frog Training in Whittlesford. Nice quiet training room just like last time though now they have seperated the PCs with office dividers. And it would have been quiet if it wasnt for my coughing and hacking (have small cold).

Having not used Office, outlook or IE for a number of years now i was a little nervous going in. All these years using Mozilla products might not have been a good idea! I did give teh MS press book a read through as well as the Exam Cram book, so thought i was ready.

Sat in the exam for around 45mins, with 10 misn question reviewing at end. Then the longest wait again as the system calculated my results and...... I PASSED!! only just with 717 but hey a pass is a pass.
Looks like my worst section was Configuring Connectivity and best Configuring Security.
So now i'm a fully paid up member of teh MCDST group. And maybe just in time as i feel my job is on the line next week.

As long as that score box says you have passed it doesn't matter if you pass by one point or 300 a pass is a pass! Well done!

    That's a start.

    But not done yet.

Seriously though, you've just been doing a lot of work on XP stuff so I'd look at getting the 70-270 done pretty quickly.

I was thinking doing the 290 and 291 for 2003 as thast the way our companies headed (see my thread in software). This would just leave me needing 1 exam for teh MCSA which iwas thinking of doing teh Windows 7 one (forgot which number, is it 680?) But not sure. If i get both the 290 and 291 before march then get teh 680 after, would i still get the MCSA as this retires in march? trying to get all 3 bfore then would be a hugh task for me.

As per tweet major congrats matey, I think the exam track expires in march as well, not just the exams AFAIK, might be worth doing teh 270 quickly then bash out 290 and 291.

Why not look at doing the 70-620 instead of the 70-680? There shouldn't be too much extra studying involved since it's basically Vista in a workgroup environment.
