Greetings 808 and welcome. Glad you are enjoying the place. Did you say you were doing the CCNA and *then* the Network+? Sounds like a reverse order to me. I recall, there was a chapter in my CCNA coursework integrating the Network+ material.

Hope we can continue to be of service to you.

Hi 808, welcome from me too! Your certainly seem up for getting well qualified for IT! Good luck wiv your courses!

As for hypnotic house beats, I always thought MC Tunes Versus 808 State with the "Only Rhyme That Bites" was a great collaboration! Thats my 2 cents anyway!

    Sacha!

Thanks for saying "hello", 808 - wish you well in all your studies [IMG]

As far as I'm aware, 808State took their name from the Roland TR-808 beatbox that was the staple drum machine of the day. Classic sounding, pretty much every electronic success of the day back then was built on this little beaut. Just a FYI [IMG]

Used to be, m8, until reality and certs took over [IMG]

Gigged around for a few years (King Tuts in Glasgow is a BLAST !!) When I got into PCs / certs, I started playing with softsynths, but never really got into it - prefer the real thing. Then I had a brief, enjoyable flirtation with the various Ejays, but once again, I found it was eating up "serious time" so had to force myself to stop :(

Hmmm, that gives me an idea about what I can do this weekend ... :hhhmmm

hi 808, welcome to the site. what software do you use ?.
I use logic pro with all the native plugins, reason, cube 2, albino,
stylus, atmosphere, waves tools, acid pro, recycle and many more along with a couple of hardware synths, virus indigo, korg trinity etc. into experimental, dance, psytrance, ambient styles.
use a pc tower linked to yamaha o1v via adat lightpipe, genelec
monitors. Not much time lately for audio as up to my neck in A+
and MCSE certs, but will be back on it again soon. :D 8) .
shame you sold the 808, worth a lot more now than a cortina!!!.
    arvy.

    hi arvy

i use sonar 3 as its so well laid out and easy to use.never used logic myself but i know a few people who would not use anything else.as for soft synths i also use albino aswell
    as basstation,v-station,hypersonic,cs-80,various moog synths
and a few others that i cant remeber the name of.i still have a roland xp-50 though i use this as a controller keyboard more than anything.as for pc hardware i use a p4 3.4ghz with 1gb of ram and a delta audiophile card running through roland ds-30a monitors.eq is taken care of by a lexicon plugin for sonar though i cant think of the full name of it.also have a les paul guitar for when im drunk and think im noel gallagher.
oh and reason 2.5 and gigasampler(when it works)
what is atmosphere like,i was thinking about getting it.
i write chillout trance more than anything (think chicane or bt)but like you have not had the time due to studying and work etc......
as soon as i get my A+ ill get started on some new tunes
and e-mail you some of my stuff
i might also set up a website for the music me and a few friends do together but this will have to wait at the moment.

hi 808. the atmosphere you will like a lot!. easy to use and good soundscapes are possible. have you heard stuff from
shpongle, saffi brothers, mysterie of the yeti, matenda, shulman?. All very good. I also like BT. what is sonar 3 like?.
i need to try other sequencers as now logic is an apple product
and can't afford a new top end applemac to upgrade to logic 6.
yea, send us a pm, would like to here your work and exchange idea's.
    arvy. :respct
p.s how far are you with your a+?. i have nearly finished now and waiting to take my final exams soon. I'm studying with computeach !!. if you need any help let me know.

the cortina was far from a great sound nugget.it was brown with beige interior as well.i often wondered why girls never really made a fuss over it like they did with my mates xr3i.
