    Afternoon all,

I've come across abit of a problem with Active Directory that I haven't faced before. Im trying to do the simple task of unhiding an exchange mailbox so I can add a few people to it, then hide it again. My problem is Active Directory just doesn't seem to take notice of any changes. I can't add the mailbox to Outlook as it says the name can't be resolved. I've had a poke round on google and read a few bits, but nothing thats really helped me figure out whats going on here. I've also created a new mailbox, that is by default unhidden, and my Outlook can't see it at all. :(

Has anyone had similar problems? Or can anyone offer any help?

    Thanks :)

Making changes to a mailbox takes time to resolve into your GAL. Unhide it, then leave it for several hours (depends on the settings really, and the size of the network).

Our network is on the small side, 4 servers and about 50 users, the mailbox's usually resolve within 2-3 minutes. Its been about 4 hours now and still not taking effect. :(

are you sure you have rights within exchange to unhide the mailbox?

    Hi

Also had this problem, try turning off cached Exchange mode and then give it 30 minutes.

    Thanks

Rebuild the Offline Address list in Exchange, then download the Address book to Outlook.

Or, you can get the LegacyExchangeDN from Active Directory and use this to add the mailbox to Outlook.
