Could really do with some help here. First noticed the problem when trying to configure a simple demand dial connection. I am running 2003 server on a member server and a DC. The problem lies on the DC. The application log is filled with event ID 1202 errors; security properties propagated with warning 0x5. I have thouroughly researched this problem but am unable to find a cure for Server 2003. Have found countless recomendations to solve this using the registry but it refers to server 2000, the options it states do not appear completely in 2003. I have no idea how to solve this!

ps i think it has something to do with permissions but have ensured that the system account has full control of the root drive. Am currently downloading service pack 1 but dont hold out much hope of this solving it.

    Any help greatly appreciated :(

Were any of these servers upgraded from a previous version?

No both the servers were clean installs! I really am stuck on this one, there appears to be endless solutions for W2K but not for 2003.

Although you may be getting these errors, does what you were trying to do still work?

What is the "source" for the failures? Is it "scecli"? Knowing the "source" makes a lot of difference in trying to track these errors down.

I first noticed these errors when tryin to configure the demand dial interface on the DC. It gave the error Phonebook entry cannot be added - Access is denied 0x5. Then after looking in event viewer i noticed the errors i mentioned. I assume this is the root of the problem.

Yeah freeloader the source is scecli, thats what i used to try solve the problem but have hit a brick wall unfortunately :(

The Domain Controller has DNS setup as an active directory integrated zone and replicates this to a secondary zone on the member server! I hope im answering what u asked?

    Ally,

What is on this page might be what you need to help you figure this out. It isn't exact, but it provides some real clues for troubleshooting.

Scroll down to the 0x5 heading to find what I'm specifically referring to. HTH as these things can be an absolute pain to troubleshoot.
