Finally I can have a rest. Been going through the book over the weekend (Mike Myers All in One), from Chapter 1 to Chapter 8.

    • The Path of a PC Tech
    • Operational Procedures
    • The Visible PC
    • Understanding Windows
    • Microprocessors
    • RAM
    • BIOS & CMOS
    • Expansion Bus

Started of by reading the 1st 8 Chapters then re-reading them again to try and make things stick in my brain. After doing the end of chapter Q&As I scored quite reasonably well, but think will need to do bit more revision for Microprossors  just cannot get the grasp of it. So going to watch some videos of Professor Messor to see if I can relate to what he says.

I've also made quite a few flash cards to carry around with me to test myelf as am travelling to work and when on lunch breaks, i've also used The Tech Terms Computer Dictionary to find out about certain things that I don't understand like SDRAM, DRAM, DDR DDR2 etc...

Everythig else though seems to click in well, so think going to have a days break then crack on Wednesday after work with a few more chapters hopefully.

    Will keep you updated. :D

    Hey Kopite.

I feel exactly the same as you on the whole microprocessor topic!

So much to take in, but ive noticed reading a whole chapter then watching Prof Messer videos on the topic and re-reading the chapter helps a lot.

Im just about to finish chapter 7 and crack on with chapter 8 tonight.

When are you due to sit your exam?
