Can anyone help me with this question i came across. I dont seem to find the answer for it.: Can an application or device driver specify if it will use physical memory or the swap file for it's data? Why or why not?

    Thank you.

Found the answer. No it cannot :) VMM does it

I wouldn't have thought that was really an A+ question, but I could be wrong.
However, apps *can* (but rarely do) ask for physical memory, and drivers *often* do. The reason that drivers do is that a device driver needs to be fast - and waiting for the data to be paged in isn't fast!
