    [HIDE]B and C for me

The strap wire, and crock clip are all conductors of electricity i.e. they allow electrons to flow relatively unimpeded. The resistor adds resistance to the discharge current, which basically allows the static voltage to discharge but at reduced current.

I = V squared over R Therefore I, *the current* is inversely proportional to the resistance <Ohm's law>[/HIDE]

Well done to everyone who said resistor! :)

The idea is to put the person with the wrist strap at a dissimilar potential difference i.e not a straight line of path for the static to go to earth.

BTW do we get points for correct answers?? Maybe just for the first person who gets it right or the first two.
