Hello i took my software exam for my A+ today and passed
i took the hardware last week, as everyone i knew i was passing with ease, i decided to crash course the exam in two week!!

@greenbrucelee yes it was a tad tricky as lots of 9x questions with Win Me which i thought was naughty of comptia
i mean who uses 9x or win me? hahaha or even Win NT

just try using the test online pratice questions as long as you score over 80%-90% then you are ready!!! the pass make at the moment is set very low at the moment so go or it if you can!!! other wise wait for the new exams that has hardware and software combined for both exams...
i'm working as a IT technician already i already knew most of the answers to the questions, as you come across things day by day, so i guess banging it out of the way was a little easy for me to be fair. i used a CD from ebay that a friend bought for a quid and it got me what i needed to know!!! just remmember a pass is a pass!!

Actually... you'd be surprised how many companies still use those old outdated client OSes...

You're NOT ready if you use the online practice tests over and over and over until you get 80-90%... the goal isn't to memorize questions that aren't going to be on the exam... the goal is to understand the concepts completely. And you won't get that by taking practice exams repeatedly.

There are no "new exams that [have] hardware and software combined for both exams" that anyone should wait on... the "new exams" were already released last year, and the "old exams" are no longer available.

Those "cheap CDs" you can get off eBay are usually illegal collections of braindump materials. Others contain CBT and practice exam software that cannot be legally resold. I'd highly recommend that you avoid using any of that mess.

I took the exam and the exam that I did had to be done by the end of this month I think it’s the old one before it changes over to the new exam may be the one you have mentioned, I know special arrangement was made for this before the change over. To be honest with learning via video demos are so much easier in my option when you need to absorb so much information in such a short time! Yes I totally agree with you illegal copies should not be sold on, but it does happen….

I know someone who passed recently and he said it only took two weeks to get his certificate
