Ages ago i took out a course with a training provider and it never went as it should. I have my A+ and am studying my Network+ and i had to buy new books as the others were out of date. I have looked in the boxes i still have from the training provider and these are the ones i have( i was planning on doing the MCDST after my network+)

    70-290 Windows server 2003 enviroment

70-291 Windows server 2003 network infastructure

    70-270 Windows XP professional

Are these still in date and what certs are they part of. I think some might even have some discount vouchers i could supply someone.

Cheers for the help guys :)

The exams wont "go out of date" but the technology on the exams will be out dated but still quite useful, but you can still take the exams.

That technology is still what a very large percentage of the business world runs on and will do for a good while yet!

Unless you've got experience of managing servers (generally what the MCSA is good for) take the MCDST. There isn't much point in taking the MCSA if you're apply for first line support roles :)
The MCDST are exams 70-271 and 70-272.

I think some of those books are in second edition now, are yours ?

    70-270 / 70-290 MCSA
    70-291 MCSA/E

but yes you should be looking at N+ and MCDST (70-271/70-772),

PS 70-270 covers areas in more detail than the 70-271/70-772 dont think that the numbers go up with order or complexity they don't necessarily.

Cheers guys for all the replies.

I was just clinging to a bit of hope that i could use these and save some money.

Hopefully be completed my network+ by end of November( if codmw2 doesnt ruin my life) and was looking for the next step. Wasnt sure which direction as i have about 3 years IT expierence from 1st line(with alot of control) and my current position of destop support.

I want to go the server route as i get some exporesure to them just now but mainly the physical setting up with guidance.
