Hello marty,

I am currently studying the A+ - 2 chapters and then I have finished reading through the AiO Mike Meyers 6th Edition from cover to cover. I will then go back through the book focusing on the objectives and writing down notes to help me remember the nitty gritty stuff like IRQ assignments, processor types etc.

If you want to share ideas/need any help then let me know

I'm about to finish up with A+, but if you want to quiz one another, feel free to shoot me an email or contact me and we can bounce some questions back and forth. I just passed the 220-601 so I have a decent idea about how poorly written the questions on the test are and how confusing they can be, so I think I could help your prep.

 

cheers for the advice lads that guide is very useful soundian I will be following that to hopefully help me along my way to passing my exam, I do have the mike meyers 6th edition so once i have read a couple of chapters I will be throwing some questions about just been watching those professor messer videos as well

does the exam focus alot on customer service???

 

It depends, some people who've taken it might say yes, some might say no, from what I can tell CompTIA has a bank of questions that are randomly generated for each individual test. The best bet is to study up on each objective. I would imagine their is going to be more customer service related questions on the 602 rather than the 601 just because it focuses more on troubleshooting, and to do that you need decent soft skills.

 

If you look at the start of the AIO it gives you the percentages that you can expect to get for each domain.
Off the top of my head it's around 10% for communication and professionalism.

 

The customer service ones should be logical, but make sure you read the question very carefully. In my opinion, those, as well as the health and saftey ones require a certain amount of guesswork as the questions aren't as clear as they perhaps should be.

 

I think these are the areas where you have to learn to think the CompTIA way.

 

Remember it's two exams not one.
