as gbl says there will of course be a new edition for the new exams, if you want an idea of how long its going to be till its out I'd suggest asking the man himself http://www.totalsem.com/forums/

Only bought his book 4 months a go, is there going to be many changes to warrent getting the 7th edition..
or can we gain the knowledge we need by using the sixth edition coupled with comptia websites and other resourses?

You don't need to wait for the new exams to come out just go for the current exams.

Most employers don't know that the exams periodically change so they don't care what version you have.
