    Congrats - it's a tough exam. It's the one I almost failed.

My advice on resources, is DON'T think you can get away with using the Sybex 685/686 book to get both exams. Darril Gibson - the author - is actually really good (his Security+ book is fantastic), but this book is just confused. It covers the 685 material very well. I read the book cover to cover for that.
But some stuff I saw in the 686 test I had never seen before and wasn't in this book. Luckily I'd done the Server exams, so some knowledge from that enabled me to scrape through. I don't believe this book prepares you to pass the 686 and so can't endorse it (though for the 685 it's pretty good).

It was a very tough exam. I used ctb nuggets and mcitp self-paced training kit (exam 70-686) windows 7 desktop administrator.

I would say a lot of my information also came from me setting up a domain on my home network and playing with things.
