Passed 70-652 this week for server virtualisation. I think if you do your homework it's an easy exam, and very interesting.

Now my mcitp detour is over it's time to get back to my last two mcitp exams and get it finished!

I recently sat this, I didn't do any prep for it at all , in fact the whole thing was very spur of the moment (I was driving past a test centre, went in on the off chance and took the exam). One of the things I wanted to do was attempt the exam before the end of June because I have 4 vouchers with 50% off exam fees.

47 Questions, a mix of Hyper-V, Virtual Server and VMM. A lot of it is common sense but it's definitely something you need to have a clue on. I actually only sat the exam to see where I would be short (I was honestly expecting to fail due to the lack of prep on my part).

Anyway after finishing the exam I had actually thought I failed, luckily for me I hadn't (it was close tho, the closest I have had for a while).

I think I may take the next couple of weeks to look into the 70-403 and 70-656 if I can.

My advice however, don't attempt the exam if you aren't familiar with virtualisation because you won't pass it.

 

was it all multiple choice questions? within my company i am in the virtualisation pod and mainly deal with vmware but we need to get this mcitp : Va for compentancy. i have been on the course which i found very easy and seem to the knew the stuff is there any gotcha areas that i need to be aware of before taking this exam i am taking it in a week or so i am going to do the 403 and this exam on the same day just to get it done and out of the way.

 

Yes it was all multiple choice.

 

I have booked it for next week so the book is out and the revision has started. i am going to book the 403 for the 23rd of the month.

 

I am just about to head off and take this one, i will let you all know anything i remember and how i get on.

 

Well just got back from the test centre, i got a pass mark of 935. There was the same 47 questions mentioned before, all multiple choice standard microsoft questions. If you know virtualisation then a bit of reading on the technet sites and best practices will be enough for this one. i spent all day yesterday reading the book for the course and didnt need to, to be fair. now for the 403 to get the MCITP:VA

I hate to disappoint you but 70-403 isn't part of the MCITP:VA.

You need 70-652 or 70-659, 70-669 and 70-693 for the VA certification.

 

Oh bad times that will teach me to listen to people and not look it up myself. so there are 3 exams that need to get done for this. does the 652 and 403 give you anything? or is it just two mcts?
