    Hello,

Currently I am working on the 70-642 R2 exam. I'm at the DHCP labs (Chapter 4) but I'm stuck and would like to receive tips on how I can go further.

I have created 2 machines named DCsrv1 and Boston. They are both member of the nwtraders.msft domain. I followed every step in the labs but my Boston machine doesn't receive the DHCP address, the DHCP server is showing. I have added some screenshots to clarify the problem.

DHCP Server says the Boston machine registered this address:

When i do an ipconfig on the Boston server, I get this (already rebooted the machine):

I'm using Vmware to do the labs from the book, I use these network settings. Is this good or should I use other settings? :)

I'm not exactly sure how vmware works but I think you need to set each machine as a virtual network. (Internal network that only the vms can see). That is if both are vms and you don't want your whole network to be seen in then.

Thanks! You just fixed the problem :D

I've put them both on the VmNet5 adapter and now it works great :D
