Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what way the exam works if you get part of a question right do you still get marks for it or do you need to get the complete question correct to get any marks at all?

nobody knows how Microsoft score their exams as they do not publish this info. Nor is it correct to assume that the exam is out of 1000 points. All that Microsoft publish is that you must get 700 points to pass.
