What books would people recommend for the 70-290 exam? These are the ones I am thinking of buying:

    MCSA/MCSE Self-Paced Training Kit

Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment

    Exam cram

    Are these ones any good?

    Hi Rob,

I passed 1st time using the 1st and 3rd books you have put links too. The practise questions on the CD you get with the Exam Cram2 book are particularly useful I found.

    Cheers

    Jim

Another Vote for the MS Press Guide.

I also used 4 Virtual machines 2xserver 2003 (evaluation disk from the 70 290 book) and 2x XP machines ( evaluation disk again, from the 70 270 book)

Set up your own AD domain break it, fix it break it again. :)

This way it sticks in your head.

I used the MS Press book and I had a testing software that used the Exam Prep/Exam Cram books, and I found those as good support to go over weak areas. I also will recommend setting up a virtual network of your own if you don't have a ton of hands on experience.

    Good Luck!!
