    Hi All,

I've been aware of the existence of 8GB SODIMMs for a while now, and have been waiting for them to drop from £400 a pair so I can upgrade my laptop to 16GB.

I've seen quite a few eBay ads (for sellers with very high feedback), advertising a pair of 8GB modules for under £100:

    Komputerbay 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR3-1333 SODIMM PC3-10600 1333MHZ Laptop Memory | eBay

    16GB DDR3 PC8500 2x 8GB PC3-8500 1066MHz Laptop SODIMM MEMORY RAM 16 GB (2x8GB) | eBay

The Samsung modules still seem to be three times the price.

Do you think this is legit? I'm aware of eBay scams with 64gb USB Flash Drives, where the drives firmware incorrectly reports that it has a much higher capacity than it really does.

I doubt this is the same thing, but it's a pretty big price drop...

    Thanks,

    Gav

In case anyone is interested, I decided against these, and purchased a pair of Corsair modules for £70 inc. delivery instead!

They work perfectly in my Dell Vostro 3750, so I'm now running with 16GB of RAM :)

    Thanks,

    Gav
