So I went ahead and scheduled the 291 for October 1st... gives me a little over 3 weeks to prepare for it. I actually went a head and purchased the 4 exam pack promotion that prometric was offering. The order in which I want to go is 291,293,294,298 which should make me an MCSE.

I already have the elective part done, which is the A+ and Network+ so aside from the core network exams I would need 1 design exam done which is the 298 is what I chose.

Good luck mate but 3 weeks to prepare for the 70-291 exam possibly isn't a good idea unless you know the material inside out as it's a pig of an exam.

 

Agreed, but already read the book and did all the practice labs in the chapters... I am in the review stages (practice tests, going over some topics I am weak at).. I've been studying for the past 2-3 months actually... which is why I scheduled it for the first of October.

Sorry mate must of read it wrong I thought you had just ordered the exam pack and decided to sit the 70-291 in 3 weeks from scratch .

 

LOL... I wish I was that good, but yeah I've been hitting this beast for a few months now, reading chapters on the bus to and from work and doing practice labs for each chapter at home! I have to admit that this is the most I studied for a certification aside from when I was in school.

All the best as this is a tough exam but sure you'd do well. Get lots of hands on practice and a good test prep software like selftest software by kaplan the people that also do transcenders.

I got my work to purchase transcender and CBT Nuggets videos. I've been doing the hands on for each chapter plus quite a few things at work as well... I will probably do what Craigie mentioned in his guide, redo my entire lab... Plus if I pass I will want to scrap the lab anyways for the 293 exam.
