Okay, so i took 291 on friday and omg i knew it was hard, but that was stupidly hard - like a lamb to the slaughter!

I was told after the exam that the exam has changed, does anyone know whether the objects are the same or not?

    Thanks becki

I take it you did not pass then? Well not to worry as I too have failed this exam and would be taking it again very soon.

Learn and know WSUS 3.0 administration and the command line switches, IPSEC and configuration, IIS, DNS and RRAS. Best wishes and hope you nail it the next try. Take advantage of the Pometric second shot offer as well:)

I failed it on my 1st attempt so don't worry, we've all failed at some point. Hard work and you'll get there, I'm now 1 exam off my MCSE.

the only exam that's retiring this year (October 31, 2010) is the 70-285 (Designing a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Organization). which is an elective most people take the 284 only anyway

Too bad about the fail, The 70-291 isn't called the beast for nothing :) You'll get it next time 8)

The MCSE will be around for a while yet.

NO denying this is a hard exam. 70-293 is not easy either. Practice will pay dividends for this exam.

Wasn't the 285 to make MCSE:Messaging qualification? What will take its place?

There are 4 MCSE elective exams being retired on 31 Oct this year: 281, 285, 285 and 350. That will mean that after 31 Oct a total of 8 MCSE elective exams will have been retired in the past 18 months. There are no replacements for them. There will be only 3 electives left to choose: 297, 298, and 299, although the new Windows 7 exam (70-680) will count as either an MCSE elective or client OS exam.

    HI

285 is replaced by 237 and 238 (these are the design exams for Exchange 2007).
