I can get 10Mb here... but I can't see spending the additional monthly cost to go from 3Mb to 10Mb.

I think they (phone & cable companies) need to increase the quality of the lines so a decent line speed is available.

I consider anything below 8 meg crap, but they need to give decent subscription prices, and as I have said above I only get 2 which is s***

Decent line speeds are available... just not in your area, and/or not at your price range.

Why is anything below 8 meg crap? Torrent much? :blink

How far are you out of interest?

Be told me im too far and the exchange is half a mile as the crow flys or about 10 min walk lol

Virgin are a ripoff, £38 a month, 20mb when you only get 5.5mb due to oversubscribed lol

That seems about right on a 2Mb line.

The strange usage policy where if you download too much your line speed is limited, still applies on the 20mb line right?

For the cost difference between a 2Mb and 8Mb+ line, you could buy WOW and not have to wait on it at all. ;)

    Actually, if you've got a 2Mb line, you're probably getting 238 KBps... not 238 kbps. Remember that Big B is different from little b. B = Bytes... b = bits. There's 8 little-b bits in 1 Big-B Byte.

    238 KBps x 8 = 1904 Kbps... approximately 1.9 Mbps.
