OK OK I know, you are probably got out your favorite solar powered duster to clear the air.

Yes, I'm probably one of the few who are on 2000 track but life hasn't been kind thus far. Just wish me good luck as from what I hear, everybody calls it the beast..well almost everybody.

    Cheers.

Good luck and let us know how you get on :)

Just remember that the 2k route retires in 2008 so finish the exams (I assume that you'll be doing the MCSA) then do the upgrade exam if you can. As there'll be no upgrade path from 2k to Longhorn *currently.

    Thanks guys.

Cheers wagnerk for the advise and yes I'm aware of their retirement next year.

Not sure if I want to go down MCSA track as it would count towards MCDBA as well. Hopefully after few discussions with you guys, I'll have an idea of which route to take.

Thanks for the good wishes :)

Well if you're going down the MCDBA route, when you finish that you can do the upgrade exam for the MCITP Database Administrator by doing the 70-447 exam :)

Holy moses - that is a good score for that sumbitch!

I took it yonks ago (five years now - goddamn I'm old...) when they didn't give out your mark, so not sure what I got. I know for sure it wasn't anything like that high though - kudos!

Would I have to take 431 exam first? So, in total: 431 and 447?

The upgrade exam will only take effect once you actually achieved the MCDBA status/cert. I mentioned this as I saw the MCDBA in your "WIP".

I actually went and doubled checked, found further info in the small print :(

When you get the MCDBA you can do the 70-431 & the 70-447 exam to upgrade to the MCITP: DB Admin cert

    or

You can just to the straight path of passing the 70-431, the 70-443 & the 70-444.

    See here.

    Sorry for the confusion.
