(No, not you, I mean the plastic box we used to have)

There was a brief flashback moment there in New Members and it brought on a wave of nostalgia (Trip, help, I'm being way to ambitious this morning).

    May like:

I put an emulator on my PC last year and spent all weekend downloading the classic favorites.
God they were bad, but playing commando again after all these years brought tears to my eyes. As it would - I think it was the pixel clash.

Unfortunately even an emulator can't slow things down enough to re-create the feel of the original. Short of pouring glue into your processor (one for you to try Noel) you have to put up with about three seconds of gameplay before you crash into a wall at Warp 6.

    Anyone else have any favorites?

BTW, I'm posting this in 'just for laughs' because, face it, with hindsight...

Well I used to have a ZX Spectrum!

Never ever heard of a Specrum, is it a special type of rum?

I don't think current games can touch the golden days of gaming such as ZX Spectrum and the Amiga. Also where I live in Whitley Bay when I was a kid there where arcades all along the coast where I used to go and play games and looked forward all week to it. Now they are all gone...

These days I am still an avid gamer but don't get the same buzz from games as I used to. One of my fondest memories was getting Double Dragon on the Speccy for crimbo as a kid. I played that game to death.

    Amiga/Spectrum/Arcades RIP...

    Ant Attack!
Little pixelly people and you could never tell if they were coming or going (except that the girl had pixelly bouncing boobs - you notice that when you're 15). There were also about 10 different camera angles and all of them wrong.

    By the way, 1000th post.

Couldn't think of anything useful to do with it, so I've wasted it here.

I used to have a ZX Spectrum 48k, the one with the rubber keys. Still have it too, but it doesn't work anymore, one of my cousins broke it £$!£$^"^!&£$% :x Ah how easy it was to copy games back then!

Double Dragon used to be my fav game, on arcade at the time. Now there's an industry that died a death, arcade games.
