[IMG] careful Karen I nearly fell my chair there!!! anyway I just found sumthin interesting with my new look desktop...have a look at shots...one shows no icons and the other shows the icons but somehow they have been activated...basically the program I using (thanks to Neall [IMG] ) allows one to have the icons not displayed on the desktop unless they are 'showcased' as is the term used on AveDesk...Neall I think you will know what I am talking about...its a neat feature really...keeps the desktop tidy unless I ask for one of the icons...just hit a button and there they are as shown in the second screenshot....

    :biggrin Sorry!

That's a cool feature on your desktop - excellent in an office to keep your icons hidden! ;)

I have done my home system, nothing too fancy, function over form and all :)

There are two versions, turns out the full res PNG was a tad big at almsot 5mb
so i made a crappy high compression jpg at 600k

Show me the full glory pic!
    Show me the lameness pic!

you dont actually see the edges of the backgrounds like that on the monitors, as they have these fancy bezal things in the way :)

Has the original point of this thread (aka work desktops) gone astray ? Or just another excuse for us to post more pics ? :D

I would post a pic but my work desktop is very boring being a plain blue screen. The staff and kids have to have the school crest on the desktop. BORING.

I'm attaching a screenshot of my Debian workstation.

Crud. I'm gonna have to work on the file size. It's too large.
