they upped my pay by 12.5% and I am getting time and a half for every saturday. Still doesn't make up for feeling like I have permanent jet lag.

I get paid what I'd consider highly less than average for what I do. And those hours are all paid at standard rate.

But I see it as free reign to get experience - work on the servers quite a bit, and given a lot of responsiblity.

Strings + bow = some kind of witticism I will think of later.

EDIT: plus, I actually genuinely *love* the job, and the team I work with are spot on. More money couldn't compensate for working in a bad atmosphere.

That's just crazy hours Arro. I hope that you are able to take in what you're learning with all that disturbance. I admire your determination!

Since last Thursday I just haven't been able to get any quality sleep at night - last night, I moved into another room at 12am, then had to move back in to our room at about 2 because I missed hubby...then I keep waking up at any noise (even with earplugs in). The last 3 days have been really weird - I just can't sleep at night then am too exhausted during the day and, without meaning to fall asleep...have a temperature too but no 'proper' cold - just shattered. I had to WFH mon and Tues...and today took the day off as holiday. Struggling to stay awake now, but am trying to as think that if I give in i'll be really awake tonight again!!

I got up at 5:08 a.m. today. I can arrive at work anytime after 7. I figure, the sooner I'm in, the sooner I'm out and can get home. My daughter comes home for (the American) Thanksgiving today at around noon, so it'll be nice to have a little more time to spend with her on her homecoming day. Of course, tomorrow, I barbecue a turkey. :biggrin

That sounds a good plan. When you have that kind of flexibility it would be rude not to utilise it. Have a nice time with your daughter/family.

I work on flexi time too. I can start any time between 7 and 9:30 am. I can go home any time after 3pm. I have to do 7.24 hours a day, but can do more on some days than others. As long as it all adds up right at the end of the month.
