The reason your premium goes up for sticking alloys on your car is because it enhances it's appearance and makes it more desirable for thieving gits! So the risk of it getting stolen is higher.

And as the others have said, 'declare them!'. It'll only bite you in the arse later if you do have to claim. £100 now is a lot cheaper than £££££'s later when you have to replace the vehicle.

Yeah anything less then a BMW is not worth protecting...did yours come with optional indicators? I think most BMW owners skimp on the indicators as they must get a hefty discount from their insurance company either that or it's an expensive option!

Consider as well GBL, for the most part, insurance is mainly useless. If you have a prang, some minor damage etc, it'll probably cost you a lot more in terms of lost no claims etc to fix rather than just putting your hand in your pocket yourself (which is also incredibly unadvisable). However, lets say you are in a smashhere people were injured or God forbid killed, the insurance could take care of all the legal fees/medical costs etc, you give false info, they could turn around and declare it null, and you've got a lot more than a dented side door to worry about!!!

Bit like winter sports cover, I know people who haven't bothered paying £30 for a weeks cover as they are very experienced skiers, but haven't accounted for some idiot smashing into them and breaking limbs, then they have hefty medical bills to cover themselves. It's rare, but if it happens, you'll be thanking yourself for it.

It's a right sh!t but worth in in the worst case scenario.

    GBL,
I'd declare. Worst case is if you damage more than just your car. I think the ins company has a right to not payout to the other parties, leaving you high & dry.
