So the World Cup is nearly upon us. Who do you think will win the The tournament? Also who do you think will be top Goalscorer?

I've gone for Argentina to win the tournament and Aguero to be top Goalscorer!!

    Predictions people?

After Argentina’s flag performance the other night I hope they get put out in the first round.

England for me – surely this time no? :)

It would be amazing for England to win, but sadly there are far better teams out there. England seem to be a hit and miss tbh, it wouldn't surprise me if something crazy happens and they are beaten by the USA.

If you use the phrase "touch downs" in context with football again, I'm hunting you down and hurting you, Kingy!

A South American team will take it, but I'm not sure it's going to be Brazil. Keep your eyes on Argentina. Of course my preference would be England. However, we have a young and promising team (again). As long as we don't spend all the matches with the bus parked and our arses in the air, I'll be happy.

I'm thinking this could be the year for the Netherlands, their defeat of Spain was clinical, obviously it helped that the Spanish keeper was on an entirely different planet for the whole 90 minutes....

England showed promise against Italy but Rooney just isn't worth selection based on Saturdays performance.

England definitely looked more promising than they have in recent years, this tournament might be a bit early but the next few years and the next tournament (Euros) should hopefully be good.

In regards to Rooney I would hope that Hodgson actually plays Rooney in his preferred position, I think some of the criticism on Rooney is unfair and glad that some of the pundits have come out and defended him and also share this opinion. Either play him in his position where he is most lethal or bench him. He setup the goal with a superb cross and its also come out today than he covered the most ground out of any other player on the pitch.

Covering ground doesn't really mean much if your not doing anything with it and apart from the cross I saw nothing to warrant Rooney keeping his place, Hodgson isn't going to move Sturridge when he is proving so effective so Rooney has got to brace himself for some time on the bench. There were plenty of strong performances in the England side, Rooney's wasn't one of them.

I agree, my criticism is to Hodgson though, either play Rooney in his position where he is effective or bench him. I wouldn't play him on the left again as that's not his position thus you will get a performance like the Italy game.
