I usually choose a word a week to use in conversations, just a nice way of increasing my vocab.

    This weeks is felicitous :biggrin

Yep. Annelids are awesome little things. Segmented invertebrates - many palaeontologists believe they can be traced right the way back to the Precambrian period (over 570 million years ago), as animals that look remarkably similar to them are found in the Burgess Shale (an exposed fossil bed in the Rockies, in case anyone's wondering)

I bet you're as fun at parties as Jonny

You guys need to make this more fun. Don't just post a word - get it into conversation, and let us know how :biggrin

We'll start with an easy one (influenced from my watching Big Bang Theory three squillion times last night)

    paradigm

noun One that serves as a pattern or model.

noun A set or list of all the inflectional forms of a word or of one of its grammatical categories: the paradigm of an irregular verb.

noun A set of assumptions, concepts, values, and practices that constitutes a way of viewing reality for the community that shares them, especially in an intellectual discipline.
